Meet the Monsters

Twist, the monster of Laguna Seca's Corkscrew

Laguna Seca · The Corkscrew

Twist

Twist lives at the bottom of Laguna Seca’s famous Corkscrew — the one spot where the track drops so suddenly, cars seem to disappear. Even Grandpa Vito, who’s raced this track a hundred times, had never once stopped to really look. Turns out Twist was never hiding to scare anyone. He just wanted to be understood.

Banks, the gentle giant of Daytona's high banks

Daytona · The High Banks

Banks

Banks is Daytona’s colossal, gentle giant — his curved back is the track’s famous 31-degree banking. From below, that towering wall looks like it could crush anything in its path. But Banks isn’t crushing the cars; he’s holding them up, using their own speed to keep them safe. Ancient and endlessly patient, he’s been quietly protecting every car that crosses him since the track’s very first lap.

Rusty, the monster under the Yard of Bricks

Indianapolis · The Yard of Bricks

Rusty

Everyone at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway looks up: at the grandstands, the pagoda, the cars. Nobody looks down. Rusty has been waiting right there for more than a century, under millions of famous bricks, and the one thing he wants is for somebody to notice him. Even Grandpa Vito, who has crossed that finish line more times than he can count, had never once looked down to see.

Dash, the creature of Monaco's harbor streets

Monaco · The Harbor Streets

Dash

Dash is tall, tidy and quick-spoken, and he looks exactly like part of the town, because he is. When the race is over and the walls come down, Enzo, Leni and their cousin Alex discover that the wall everyone says never forgives a mistake is actually holding everyone close enough that nothing gets lost. Even Grandpa Vito, who raced these streets lap after lap, had never once really seen him.

Enzo, Leni and Grandpa Vito, the recurring explorer family

The Explorers

Every monster in the series is discovered by the same curious family — Enzo, who sees the story; his sister Leni, who checks the math; and their Grandpa Vito, a retired weekend racer who’s driven these tracks more times than he can count... but never once stopped to really “see” what is there. Together, they go back and discover the wonder.

About Track Monsters Books

Every great racetrack has a personality. Some corners are patient. Some are vicious. Some feel like they’re testing you on purpose. Whether it’s a blind mountain drop in California, nearly thirteen miles of forest in Germany, a harbor-side street circuit in Monaco, or a high-banked oval where the fastest stock cars and open-wheel racers in the world run door to door for hundreds of laps. Race fans everywhere talk about tracks like they’re alive.

Track Monsters asks a simple question: what if they really were alive?

Each book in the series takes one real, famous racetrack from somewhere in the world and turns its most notorious feature into a monster — a creature whose scary reputation turns out to be a literal, true detail about the real track underneath it. Every monster is discovered the same way: by the same two curious kids, Enzo and his sister Leni, and their grandfather Vito, a retired weekend racer who’s spent more time around these tracks than he’d like to admit.

I’m Vittorio — Motorsport runs in my family — from my great-uncle, who founded a renowned performance-piston company, to my father and brother, gifted mechanics and lifelong racing fans. I created these stories to pass that passion and connection on to a new generation.

From California to Germany, Monaco to the biggest ovals in America, every famous track hides a monster of its own — and every story is built on real facts, real numbers, real racing, alongside the fiction.

Curiosity over fear, every time. Something looks scary because nobody’s taken the time to understand it. A kid does anyway. It turns out to be worth knowing. If there’s one thing we hope every book in this series leaves behind, it’s that.

New tracks. New monsters. Same real world underneath every story.
